ACADEMIC CONDUCT
According to Ordinance VII of the
University Calendar, in each academic year every student is
required to attend (at least) 2/3rd of the total number of
lectures and tutorials/preceptorials/practicals held
separately in all the subjects taken together. No student
is eligible to take the University Examination unless he/she
fulfils the above requirements. No concession in
attendance is given to a student joining a course late or
transferred to another course.
Lectures, Tutorials/Preceptorials and Contact Hours
The college curriculum provides
adequate space for lectures, tutorials/preceptorials and
contact hours. For the honours courses tutorials are held once
a week for each paper; for Pass Course and General Course,
preceptorials are held fortnightly for each paper. For these,
each class is divided into smaller groups to facilitate
discussions, personal attention and removal of individual
problems of student. Contact hours are assigned to each
teacher for personal interaction with the students.
House Examinations
The college shall conduct one
house examination as per the academic calendar. The
examination is compulsory for all students and shall be held
tentatively in the second week of January.
Activities
The various departmental
societies of the college provide a platform for creative
thinking to its members. They organise competitions,
conferences, seminars, symposiums and workshops at
college/Inter college levels.
These Socieites are :
Business Economics Association,
Vyakatitva (Commerce Society), ACTIVE (English study circle),
B.A. (pass) Association, Hindi Parishad, History Association,
KETOS Society (Computer Science), Ramanujan (Mathematics
Society), Chanakya (Political Science Association), TECHNO
(Electronic Science) and Samvad (Journalism Society). These
societies are active throughout the year in organising thought
provoking programmes with the help of their respective student
office bearers, and patron faculty members.
