FACILITIES
Library The college has a well-stocked and
up-to-date library, The library also has a spacious reading
room, which subscribes to a number of periodicals and
newspapers in both Hindi and English. The library is fully
computerised with Identity cards being used for the purpose of
issuing books. The students should make full use of the
services offered by the library. They should, however, note
that library rules and propriety have to be observed under all
circumstances.
Computer Centre The College Computer Centre
with three laboratories is one of the biggest among those in
Delhi University Colleges. The laboratories are equipped with
53 computers connected with LAN (Local Area Network). All
necessary and contemporary softwares are also available.
Student Service Computer Centre The
“Student Service Centre” provides various computer based
services such as computing facilities, visualization
facilities that will enable its users to be among the first to
carry out innovative and more effective forms of knowledge and
perform high quality research in their respective areas of
interest through available softwares, internet access etc. The
details may be obtained from the college computer center.
Scholarships for Honours Courses The
University holds a competitive examination in Delhi in the
month of October each year for the award, of ALL INDIA
ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP, 50 (fifty) in number of the values of Rs.
250/- (Rupees two hundred fifty only) per month, each tenable
for three years for pursuing a course for an honours degree in
this University. The competition is open to the students who
have passed the senior school certificate examination (under
10+2 pattern of education) from the central board of secondary
examination, New Delhi or an examination equivalent thereof.
Students with at least 55% marks in aggregate are eligible.
The last date for receipt of
applications is 1st September each year. Other details may be
obtained from the college or from the Examination Branch VII(i)
Main University Campus, Room No. 61, on any working day
between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., after Ist August each year.
The examination forms will be accepted from the eligible
candidates along with an examination fee Rs. 50/- only.
The Delhi Government provides a
Meritorious Scholarship for deserving candidates.
SAF
A students’ Aid fund is maintained in the college
to help the needy students from time to time. For further
information regarding students Financial Assistance, students
may contact the teacher incharge.
Bus PasS
The college has arrangements for issue and renewal
of bus passes for its students.
Identity Card The college issues an
identity card to each student. They are required to carry the
card all the time. Loss of the identity card should be
reported to the police immediately. A duplicate Identity Card
shall be issued by the college on submission of a copy of the
FIR and payment of Rs. 20/-. Entry to the college is strictly
by I-Card only.
Magazine The college brings out ‘AGRANIKA’
an annual magazine. The objective is to inculcate a literary
habit among students of the college. Those interested in
contributing to the magazine should contact the concerned
faculty members on commencement of academic activity in the
college.
Notice Board The college displays important
information regarding time-table, examination dates,
examination results, attendance rules, submission of various
application forms for freeships, examinations, scholarships,
sports and college fee, etc. on the college notice board.
Students are advised to make it a habit to look regularly at
the Notice Board as it is an important media of communication
and no separate communication shall be sent to the students by
post.
Wall-MagazinE The college has a wall
magazine ‘MURAL’ which provides an opportunity for interaction
and expression to all the students of the college in the form
of articles, creative pieces, collage, cartoons and posters.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) The college
started National Cadet Corps (NCC) training to its students
in 1998. The college has enlarged the ambit of this activity
in the last academic session.
Student’s CounciL Students today are aware
and articulate about their rights and responsibilities. In
order to create an effective platform for the expression of
their opinions, suggestions and grievances and also to
facilitate free and fair communication with teachers and
college authorities, the college has made provision for the
formation of Student’s Council. One student representative
nominated from each course of each year constitutes the
Council. The class representatives are nominated on the basis
of their academic performance, attendance record and general
conduct in the college. The council has a committee of
teachers to guide and supervise its affairs. One meeting per
term of the Council is compulsory. The Principal of the
college, however, can summon meeting as and when the need
arises. The term of the Council is one academic year.
Cultural Council The college has always
inculcated the philosophy of all round development in its
students. Keeping this in view the college has formed the
Cultural Council, a body comprising the students and the
teacher advisors.
For effective and widespread
participation the following working groups have been formed
under the aegis of the council :
It plans and implements the
college cultural calendar. The biggest event is the college
festival ‘PLEXUS’. Many well received Spic Macay events have
also been organised under its aegis. Freshers welcome, Annual
Day, Farewell etc. are all organised with equal vigour and
enthusiasm.
Sports The college has developed its
sports ground at the new college site (Vasundhara Enclave).
The students can avail of this facility after seeking prior
permission from the Department of Physical Education. The
College organises its Sports Day – ‘SPORTS MAC’ every year at
the new College site in Vasundhara Enclave.
Conference Room The college has a
fully air-conditioned and well equipped conference room. The
room has audio/visual facilities to organise seminars,
conferences, debates, panel discussion etc:
Financial Help
(a) Financial assistance in the
form of Fee Concession is given to deserving students on
application on a prescribed form obtainable from the college
office. Applications should reach the college office before
the date notified for this purpose. No student will be
considered for grant of financial assistance unless he/she has
made an application before the prescribed date. Such freeships
will be allowed only to those students who are found to be
academically sound.
(b) Students belonging to
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe are eligible for the award
of post-matric scholarship of the Directorate of Education,
Delhi Administration, Delhi. Students who are eligible for the
above scholarship are required to submit their applications
(on the prescribed form available from the college office) to
the college office. The Certificate/Declaration as required
under the rules should be attached with the application form.
Students who are from states other than Delhi will have to
submit their applications immediately after admissions, to the
states to which they belong. Failure to follow these
instructions will result in non-grant of such scholarship.

The college reserves the right to make changes in the rules
or to withdraw any of the facilities mentioned above.

Facilities can also be withdrawn from students not
fulfilling the attendance requirement.
